Moderate Physical Fitness Exercise And Stay Fit

Hi everyone,

I saw an interesting article that Yahoo put out called “4 Ways French Women Stay Thin (Without the Gym)”

It doesn’t matter if you are a man, I am, it’s still good information and fits whatever sex you are.

My side of the family is European, my dad’s from Austria, and so there is direct communication with Europe. The issue I hear a lot about is how Americans are so extreme with everything.

You can be moderate and stay fit.

The French folks, and the same with other European countries, don’t spend long hours, pumping iron, and sweating it out at the gym. The French women reject the notion of ‘no pain, no gain’.

The whole essence of this article is moderation. Incorporate exercise into your daily routine.

Here are 4 things you can incorporate into your lifestyle now which will keep you healthier, help you start exercising, and help you feel better about yourself:

  1. Walk
  2. Intentionally walk up the stairs a floor, or down the stairs a floor, don’t take the elevator for just 1 floor. Park far from the store, (like on the weekend at the mall) and instead of complaining about it walk. Ride your bike, or walk to the grocery store when you can. According to the article, “burning a mere 50 extra calories a day equates to five pounds a year.

  3. Use “wasted” time to exercise
  4. Do isometric, discreet exercises while you’re just waiting around. Here’s an example that was given:

For example, while waiting in traffic or on the subway, contract your abs for 12 seconds with your back pressed against the seat (it’s better for you than road rage). When reading a magazine at home, try sitting on the floor with your legs stretched and apart in a V and your hands on each side; this is a great stretch for your inner thigh muscles.

Contract and hold your leg and arm muscles when you’re sitting at the computer or vegging out in front of the tube. Even take a deep breath and hold it for 10 seconds to work the lung muscles.

  5. Focus your attention on your core
  6. Men get the “love handles” around the waste, or the “beer belly”, and most women forget about their physical appearance as they get older.

In high school, we are so interested in the way we look, and then it goes downhill after you get married.

What happened? Stop the “I don’t care attitude”.

I am not exempt from this, but it seems as the older we get, other things have a habit of getting in the way. Don’t lose focus of the need to keep yourself healthy and exercise those muscles which support a healthy spine and vital internal organs.

Stretch and strengthen those abdominal muscles. Do 3 sets of 10 sit ups each morning.

Yoga has some good abdominal stretches as well as some other good exercises. Here are some good yoga abdominal stretches.

A little each day, will turn out to be a lot in the long run.

  7. Moderate weight lifting
  8. 3-5 lbs of weight, not a lot, but better than doing nothing. This focused weight lifting is good for building muscle tone, bone density, and supplements the cardiovascular benefits of an active lifestyle.

The idea is to avoid extremism.

The “The Diet Solution” program, combined with your new healthy lifestyle will help you lose the extra pounds that seem to linger around.

Please leave a comment, if you would like.
