Happy Start of 2010 and Decade

It’s now the 1st day of 2010. It feels weird writing that. It’s also weird to think that it is the start of a new decade.

I reviewed some of the highlights of the past 2 decades in this post, Click here.

Many of you probably can think of 2 decades ago and probably farther back. I start at 1990, because that’s when I graduated from High School.

I encourage you all to write down on paper everything you want to get accomplished this year, and then cross it off the list whenever it gets done. I’ve been doing this for several years and it’s amazing what I’ve gotten done, or went in another direction other than I planned (because it was a better idea). You’ll be surprised what you can accomplish by 12/31/2010, if you just write it down. For example: Write down “Buy a new leather couch”. That’s one of your “to dos” for this year. Or, “get house painted”.

One of the items on my list is “build tree house”. That’s been needing to get done for around 2 years now.

Make your goals simple and measurable so you get them done.

Come up with goals for these 4 categories:

  1. Physical
  2. like:
run down the street, around the block, 1 mile or more.
    lift weights
    start exercising
    or other

  3. Spiritual
  4. like:
read the Bible 5 min each day.
read the Bible through this year.
spend around 30 minutes in prayer and Bible reading each day.
listen to the Bible on MP3 everyday (you can go through it around 3 times in a year)
    meditate 5 minutes a day.
feed your soul with something else.

  5. Financial
  6. like:
Be a better asset to your current company.
Pursue a better and better position at your current employer.
    Get a better paying job.
    Start your own business.
Make your own business more profitable.
    Get out of debt.
    Grow your savings.
Pay off your car note or home loan.

  7. Family/Personal
  8. like:
Spend 3 hours with your kids a day.
A date night 1 time a month with your spouse.
A date night with 1 of your kids each month.
Have 20 minutes of “couch time” with your spouse each day.
    Have a “super-happy fun day”.
Pay attention to what your spouse or kids are saying.

There are probably other ideas that you have that you can add to my list.

I would love to hear your comments below
! Please fill me in! It one just help me out but you’ll probably help someone else out as well.

Enjoy,

Erik Loebl

Great ideas! I myself am in a state with ribi rage. Do you know what that is? What happens when FDA meds fail. No, really it is a side effect of ribivarin. You rant and rave till your heart won’t take any more and you just sit down and cry. Wow what a ride my failed treatment caused. I have so many bad side effects but I do see some improvements. I am now looking to healthy foods and perhaps herbal remedies. I had a sign when my get well sleep tape broke. I watched a movie today about Silymarin which I think is a milk thistle product perhaps? Oh my memory is worse than ever before. She was making a case against it and it was graph wise looking pretty good when you got nowhere to turn. Thanks Erik for such a wonderful website.
