Master Cleanse Diet Review
Hi everyone,
I want to inform you all of something.
Ever since the well known pop artist/actress Beyonce used the master cleanse diet program to shed over 14 pounds in weight for the movie, “Dream Girls”, the Master Cleanse program have gained a lot of attention. Actually, this program is not anything new. Believe it or not, it has been around for many years.
Stanley Burroughs was the inventor of the diet in 1941 as a cleansing program to remove toxic in our bodies. He wrote and distributed a book about the diet in 1951. However today the program has undergone transformations from being a Detox program to a Weight loss diet.
The original program was never designed as a weight loss program, but as a bodily cleanse. Due to the fact Beyonce, after just under doing the program for two weeks managed not only to lose substantial weight but also looks 10 years younger, many have been more than willing to give this program a shot.
However there has been much misconception which has surrounded this popular program which has been circulating around in the print media as well as on the internet. One of these misconceptions is that this program is dangerous as it is a purely liquid diet. And for a person to be under going a liquid diet for an extended period of time, this is dangerous for one’s health.
Although it may be true to say that the Master Cleanse program if followed through for a prolong period of time is dangerous, the Master Cleanse is only a 10 days program. Furthermore, tens of thousands of people had adopted this program for a period of up to 40 days and there have been no ill effects. Most of these people in fact ended up feeling better than ever with all the toxins purged from their bodies.
Another misconception if that the Master Cleanse program causes us to be malnourished. Again this is another myth which many took for granted as the truth. The reason why many think that this is so is because the Master Cleanse is just Lemonade mixed with Maple syrup and Cayenne powder.
Although we all know Lemon juice is extremely rich in Vitamin C, many of us are unaware that it is also rich in potassium. Furthermore maple syrup, one of the essential ingredients of the Master Cleanse contains many of the nutrients and minerals our bodies need.
The Master Cleanse program has also been said to lack protein and thus is harmful to our health, but maple syrup contains the building blocks for protein. The lack of protein by itself is not an indication that this is a not a good Cleansing program. If we look back through history, fasting has also been recommended by the Bible. This is in addition to the fact many doctors like Dr. Joel Fuhrman, author of Eat to Live has many success with patients using fasting as a remedial treatment.
There have also been many books which had been written about the Master Cleanse program. The majority of these books project the Master Cleanse program as a weight loss program. As mentioned earlier, the founder, Stanley Burroughs never designed this program as a weight loss program. Weight loss which resulted from following this program is a consequence of removing harmful toxins in our body.
It has to be noted that once a person goes off the Master Cleanse program and revert back to their original diet, weight gain is to be expected. If you wanted to lose weight, you have to change your dietary lifestyle and exercise habits, and not just remove toxins from your body.
Most books which have been written on the Master Cleanse program also fail to state the fact that most people fail in completing the Master Cleanse program within the first 3 days on this tough regime. Most of these difficulties are glossed over in order to promote products like Hoodia or other dietary products designed to ease the difficulties of this program. Master Cleanse Secrets is a book you should read before attempting the diet.
Besides from guiding you on how to do the Master Cleanse program, this books also details out the possible ill effects which you will be experiencing and prepare you for all that. It also gives you alternatives to try to overcome these difficulties.
Mostly this book stresses on will power, and “you will have to look out for this”. I find that this is a much better way than what most books advocated because the end result is that you not only feel stronger physically, you also feel better mentally.
